The Study Guide begins here:

In the beginning, the universe was created. On the earth, creatures roamed upon it and humans became the principal occupants. Various documents have recorded human’s progress on the surface of the earth; the various lands and seas explored and travel into outer space. From the beginning, as humans developed, they explored, multiplied and expanded their dominion. For whatever reason, there were wars (battles) over time (history) resulting in confusion as to the truth or accuracy of recorded history.

At the same time, many positive things were happening such as development of literacy, of art, of civilization as a whole in math and the sciences, development of cultural resources, of tools, and expanding explorations for knowledge in evolving humankind.

Certain groups (families, tribes, nations) of humans referred to as civilizations took full advantage of their acquired knowledge and power; of their capability to control and destroy; and their ability to capture and claim as their own the progress of other civilizations.

Some groups that took dominion, did so with a justification to the effect that the captured or dominated society was not advancing, they were decadent or not worthy of they’re presence and existence. In many cases, the captured cultures of value were either translated into other languages or disciplines or representations in order to more closely reflect the power structure that had gained dominance over the captured culture.

For whatever reason, dominant in the human psyche, there appears to be a common thread of a deity or god or king or queen or sovereign nation or some entity worshipped as a deity or recognized as a controlling power to be given credit for the advancement of a particular era. This may have resulted in distortion or misrepresentation of the facts regarding the progression of civilizations recorded in the annals of history. Thus, the need for distinguished scholars to participate in the ongoing search for truth and its proper allocation.

Sorting through it all….

So, now come today’s modern educators, students, scholars, explorers and seekers of truth finding a need to sort through all of this. They must try to determine what really happened in the past. To try and bring forward those under represented groups, those under represented cultures in to the present writings and oral presentations. To be represented accurately and to be given full share of historical representations in terms of past progressions of civilizations to today’s times.

Thus the backdrop, the background for the story of Lord McBee And His Sailing Ship, their history, where they came from, whom they represent, where they lived, their cultures, that kind of thing. It provides an opportunity for those of interest in this story, to use it as a gateway to the study of history, of science, of literature, of cultures and to add inquiring minds in the quest for knowledge and truth.

In this document that writes of the making of the story of Lord McBee and His Sailing Ship, the focus is exactly upon the evolution of truth, where to go to find it and the effort to teach one, the participants, the viewers of the CD, the readers of these documents, to seek and pursue truth coming away with not only the feeling of accomplishment in reviewing the references and Internet links, but to have some sense of their own as a result of study, to know truth and to go forward; and to look upon the story of Lord McBee And His Sailing Ship as the result of transitions from truth to peace.

Dictionary Notes:

In the 7th century, the people of Northern Africa were called Berbers who lived along the seacoast and in the northwestern corner of the continent. The Berbers and allies conquered Spain early in the 8th century. The descendants of the occupancy are known as the Moors from the Latin word Mauri used to describe the Berbers prior to the conquest of Spain. Their Christian descendants are known as Moriscos. The Moors were in Western Europe from 710 AD until the late 1400’s as conquerors and had a significant positive impact on developments in European politics, culture, and socio-economic affairs.

Isabella I of Castile (1451-1504) married Ferdinand of Aragon and was heir to her half brother Henry IV of Castille. She inherited his throne in her own right in 1474. Isabella wore Armour and led her armies to battle in the field. She was a military strategist and organized supplies and field hospitals. As Queen, Isabella I united Spain, established the Spanish Inquisition and sponsored explorer Christopher Columbus.

During the Age of Discovery, the need for merchants to explore places to market goods resulted in various trading routes. Of interest to the character Junior McBee and friends, in their school studies, were the American Indian explorers and the routes shown on the Drake-Mellon world map. They were captivated by studies of leaders and explorers over time. This map traces Drake’s itinerary in 1577 along the England-North Africa-North America triangle. The Virginia Company Chart of the early 1600s shows England, "Francia" and "Hispania" in Europe, "Barbaria" and "Gviana" in Africa, and "Nova Francia," Virginia, Florida and "Gviana" in America. In the first decade of the 1800’s a number of interpreters forever changed the destiny of America. Native American Indian woman Sacagawea climbed high mountains, crossed ravenous streams by canoe and healed ill explorers with roots, berries and herbs. An interpreter and negotiator, she was also known as Bird Woman, a leader of the Lewis and Clark expedition of 1804-1806.

A Jewish nation in Palestine for many seemed the best escape from religious prosecution Jews faced in other lands. In the late 1800's, significant immigration to Palestine began transforming "useless land" into farm settlements. In 1948, Jews had become strong enough to declare Israel independent. See Israel-1949 Map, replacing Palestine as Israel.
